Janelle Draper-Behind the Blog

I’m Janelle, a wife, mother, and aspiring imperfectionist. My background is in education, my heart is to help, and my experience comes from getting back up time and time again. I believe laughter is the best medicine, dessert is the best food group, and vulnerability is the best relationship builder. Let’s have more of each.

This blog serves as a soft place to laugh, and learn, and lean into a deeper connection to your own story, situation, and ultimately your sense of self.

Grab a cup of tea, a sleeve of Oreo’s, and your comfy pants. Settle into a space where stories are transparent, lessons are universal, and connection is the ultimate goal.

You’ve come to a place of understanding. Our experiences are personal and shared, real and unpredictable. They are the unplanned lessons of motherhood, where you check to see if anyone sees you, and all you feel is support.

Through my stories, our stories, you are seen. Bring me your imperfect, your broken moments of motherhood, of sisterhood, of life. Rest in the fact that flaws are humanity and grace abounds.

Like time with a trusted friend, use the stories and shared experiences, not as a set of shoulds, but possibilities to consider in support of your own personal truths. Stay a while, come back often, and bring your friends.

Vulnerability is abundant, imperfection is embraced, and slippers are optional.

Leave no mom behind. Lock arms in solidarity, in support, in surrender of perfection and parenting shoulds. Show up with tea and in tears. Show up with messy hair and messy lives and untangle it all together.

That’s where you’ll find me.

Janelle
